SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
• Over TWELVE years of IT experience out of which EIGHT years of extensive experience in Database Administration, Implementation and Development for the use of integrating applications.
• Expert in Databases Administration, Management using RDBMS such as SQL Server and Oracle under UNIX and WINDOWS environment.
• Extensive DBA experience in supporting over a hundred SQL Server instances comprising of versions (2005/2000/7.0/6.5) and several hundreds of databases on a 24×7 production environment in a clustered (active-active/active-passive) or non-clustered builds.
• Strong knowledge in SQL Server disaster recovery, backup/restore, migration, and upgrade.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server best practices and ability to recommend corporate wide SQL Server standards, I/O subsystem planning and RAID configuration, sizing, capacity planning.
• Experience in Software development mainly in modern web technologies, server-side, client-side and database interfacing (VB6, ASP, VB.NET, C#).
• Strong DBA development skills writing TSQL/PLSQL scripts, creating DTS, SSIS.
• Strong scripting skills using PERL, SHELL, VB script and DOS batch scripts.
• Strong understanding of Windows system administration, installation, security, user management, networking, disk configuration.
• Capable of working under pressure and stiff deadlines, ability to drive change.
• Ability to document implementations and write scripts as per SOX standards and change management
• Good team player and ability to mentor.
MS SQL Server 2005 Platform:
• Administration including Planning, Installation, Deployment/Implementation, Advanced Configuration of MS SQL Server 2005 in a clustered/non-clustered environment, Log shipping, Database Mirroring, Database snapshots
• Upgrade/Migration of MS SQL Server 2000 to MS SQL Server 2005 using any suitable approach (in place or side by side).
• Database maintenance plans using SSMS or BIDS, creating SSIS Packages
• User and database security management, creating groups, users, roles, granting permissions, policies.
• Using SQL Server Profiler and other tools for trace Analysis.
• On going skill upgrade on MS SQL Server 2005 in various technical areas.
