Experiencing difficulty in Managing Devices remotely from the @Remote Center System, how am I to understand /

troubleshoot the Error Messages?

Answer
There are three possible Error Messages that you can encounter when attempting to Remotely Manage a Device from

the @Remote Center System.

1) RESULT_EXIST_DEVICE_IP

This message indicates that the IP Address which was used during remote registration was duplicated with another

Managed Device already claiming to have the same IP Addresss.

This is very simple reason, and anyone can easily notice the cause. In this case, you should retrieve the latest

AutoDIscovery data with the latest IP (Download the Counter CSV File).

Since only one Device can be assigned to one IP Address, you may need to un Manage the previous Device so that you

can now Manage the new Device.

2) RESULT_NG

This error shows in case when the following condition is occurring on the Device side.

a. Power off

b. Disconnected

c. IP Address was changed

d. Device type is not correct: You selected “HTTPS” in the center GUI against SNMP device.

e. DESS module is not installed: Against a part of MFP which DESS was not pre-installed (models produced in early

2004), You selected “HTTPS” in the center GUI.

To clarify the device condition, please check reporting CSV if the device is working beforehand.

If you see the download CSV, some devices which you failed to manage may not be listed in the CSV, which could

indicate that they are in condition “a” or “b” above.

3) RESULT_BUSY

This error occurs when the next request is sent before the current request is completed.

The RC Gate can execute only one job (request from the center).

Thus, if two requests are made from the center GUI and sent to the RC Gate at the same time by periodical polling

from the RC Gate, the RC Gate can only perform the first request. Second request is not performed at all, and simply

returns back the result to the center with “Busy”.

So, please do not make plural requests to the same RC Gate in short period (normally within one hour).

As general comment, if you are going to perform a remote registration request, please keep the following rule.

Check counter CSV if the device is working.

Check the device category if the device is NRS compatible (HTTPS) or MIB device (SNMP).

Check the device status if DESS module is installed. (If not sure, select SNMP)

If you created a request, do not create another request to the same RC Gate within one hour.

If the same error is continued, final action should be to visit the customer to see the device, and perform device

registration at the Customer Site via the RC Gate GUI.

MR Date is Meter Read Date which will be a number between 1 and 28, this will be the reoccurring date of the Month that the Managed Device will provide it’s Meter Read Information to the @Remote Center.

EMBEDDED atremote:

At pereira:

Request request number from website

Email this number to yourself.

At customer:

Ensure the device is removed from any external RC gate device management

Enter request number on at remote embedded

Confirm succeeds (instantly) once the device has internet connection!

Press the “program” next to “confirm”

That’s it.

For a new device added, go to the registrant mode of atremote, search the network,

check the device, and add.

The other way is to wait for the auto-discover time to occur that day.

———————————————————–

To manually enter request number

go to service mode – select remote service option
